Mark Mercola, PhD
Dr. Mercola is Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Stanford University and formerly
a Professor of Bioengineering at the University of California, San Diego, the Sanford-
Burnham-Prebys Medical Discovery Institute, and Harvard Medical School. He laid the
groundwork for the the efficient production of heart cells from pluripotent stem cells andhas done foundational work on the creation of iPSC models of heart disease. He is
known for his work on using iPSC models for early stage therapeutic target and drug
development. He is a recipient of an NIH MERIT award and his research is funded by
the National Institutes of Health, the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the
PLN Foundation and the Fondation Leducq.
